At Top Spec, Melissa brings together formal education from The University of Findlay and nationwide experience teaching and selling veterinary ultrasound—fueling her passion for creating healthy, happy horse-and-rider partnerships.

The Top Spec show team is known for two things: endless laughs and results that go far beyond ribbons. With roots in 4-H, OHSET, and IHSA, Melissa knows exactly how to prep riders for the ring starting with expectations,  confidence in the warm-up and eloquent equitation riders that figure out each horse. In just her first two years coaching IEA, she’s taken multiple students to qualifiers, qualified both middle and high school hunt seat and dressage teams for Zones, and sent five riders to Nationals—all while keeping the barn vibe fun, encouraging, and supportive.

There’s always something happening: barn parties, trail rides, camping trips, beach rides, in-house clinicians, and plenty of laid-back fun for anyone who simply loves horses and good company.
